OVERVIEW

IFPC is the U.S. Army's program to protect fixed and semi-fixed sites from cruise missiles, unmanned aircraft, and rockets, artillery, and mortars. The system integrates the Sentinel radar, IBCS command-and-control, and a launcher fielding AIM-9X and other interceptors. IFPC fills a gap between short-range point defense (Stinger, M-SHORAD) and longer-range area defense (Patriot). The Army fielded the first IFPC battery in 2023 with additional batteries planned through FY30. IFPC sits under the Army's Long-Range Precision Fires cross-functional team.
