OVERVIEW

The Army's Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) is the successor to ATACMS, delivering ranges beyond 500 km with quad-pack launcher compatibility. The Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW, "Dark Eagle") is a strategic-range boost-glide system based on the Common Hypersonic Glide Body co-developed with the Navy's Conventional Prompt Strike. Together they cover the Army's tactical and operational strike arc against hardened, defended, or moving targets in a contested environment. LRHW's first battery fielded in 2023 with subsequent flight tests through 2024-25 recovering from earlier launcher-related failures.
